From 15th to 20th June 2025 the 12th EDCTP Forum was held in Kigali, Rwanda, with over 1000 global stakeholders to discuss better health through global research partnerships.
Three representatives of R-Evolution WorldWide, coordinator of MPOX-PROBE project, Dr. Dario Scaramuzzi (CEO), Dr. Chiara Cupri (Project Coordinator) and Dr. Sara Greco (Project Coordinator), have been part of this important meeting to improving epidemiological surveillance of Mpox with new diagnostics and strengthening the public health response. They had the opportunity to showcase the impact of MPOX-PROBE research, focusing on strengthening equitable global health research partnerships.
Key Outcomes from the Forum:
- The European Commission and the European Union reaffirmed their commitment to serving as reliable partners in efforts to improve health outcomes for the world’s most vulnerable populations.
- There is a renewed, continent-wide commitment in Africa to strengthening clinical research capacity.
- The critical importance of research and innovation in addressing major public health challenges—particularly for vulnerable communities—was strongly reinforced.
